In 2018, myself and 4 other students from the Creative and Therapeutic Arts Course, worked alongside pupils aged 11-19 years with learning difficulties from Woodlands High School, Cardiff.

Over several weeks, we ran a number of workshops where the pupils engaged in learning various skills including monoprinting, 6 part story-telling, sensory bunting and salt-dough manipulation.

Through these activities the pupils presented ideas for the creation of villainous witch-like puppet which would be used in a Hijinx Odyssey Theatre Production - Hansel and Gedeon.

We explored different ideas - what did she look like? How does she smell? What does she wear? What does she do and who with?

Although she was a little scary looking in the end, we had great fun bringing the character to life with tremendous feedback from the general public.
